Day 1
Welcome aboard!
Those who know us are familiar with our motto!
We want you to feel welcomed from the very first moment; every guest for us is like a sailor searching for the right course to make their stay unforgettable.
After your arrival and settling in at Casa Marinari, the afternoon will be dedicated to getting to know each other and enjoying good company. In Italy, and especially in Calabria, there is only one place where this truly comes to life — at the table!
6:00 PM – Welcome aperitif, followed by the culinary experience “Hands-on Cooking Class”: Chef Gianluigi Di Cunto will guide you in preparing Calabrian fusilli, a typical local pasta, accompanied by a delicious sauce whose secrets you will learn.
Of course, this won’t be the only dish to savor. From the aperitif to the digestif, you will travel through the most authentic Calabrian flavors.
Day 2
Coastal Trek
8:00 AM – Meeting in the Breakfast Room, where you can enjoy a homemade Italian and/or international breakfast.
9:00 AM – Meeting point at Ajnella – Scalea, followed by departure for the Sea Trail (about 4 km round trip, difficulty level E-T).
This excursion will be a perfect way to burn off the previous evening’s dinner! Jokes aside, Calabria is known for being a wild land full of natural beauties waiting to be explored. Trekking usually takes place in hills or mountains, but Antonio, the CAI-certified guide who will accompany you, will let you experience sea trekking along a rocky, jagged coastline like the one at Riviera dei Cedri.
A scenic route along the coast, passing caves and small coves, reaching the Profondiero area — specifically the most panoramic spot in the Gulf of Policastro. A short stop to capture the breathtaking view, then continuing back with an expected return by 1:00 PM.
Mandatory equipment: hiking boots, trekking poles (optional), water, technical clothing, rain poncho if needed.
Note: In case of bad weather, the experience will be refunded.
After such an active morning, it’s time to relax at one of Scalea’s most authentic spots: Lido Olgarino, where you’ll have a reserved umbrella with sunbeds and the chance to recharge with a fresh fish-based lunch, as well as other local options.
The real star is the famous “Fresella di Olgarino”: a dish to discover, tasty and genuine.
In the afternoon, we recommend a refreshing granita or an excellent artisanal gelato. In short, the flavors of Lido Olgarino will accompany you from lunch until sunset, which will gift you with spectacular colors.
Lunch is free and not included: everyone can choose what to enjoy independently. Available and included: umbrellas and sunbeds for relaxing by the sea.
In the evening, there will be free time to go out with recommendations on places to visit based on each sailor’s preferences!
Day 3
From the Village to the Sea
8:00 AM – Breakfast at Casa Marinari
The entrance to the medieval village is right next to the doors of Casa Marinari.
9:00 AM – Guided tour of Scalea’s Historic Center:
churches, Byzantine frescoes, archaeological museum, and picturesque corners.
12:00 PM – Lunch at Anna’s restaurant, “Antica Trattoria ‘a Taverna,”
where you will be delighted with a journey through the flavors of Scalea’s cuisine.

Afterwards, we will visit Scalea’s symbol, Talao Tower, a site of great historical and natural importance. Suspended between sky and sea, Talao Tower tells stories of sailors, sea attacks, and colors that never cease to amaze. We will admire the view from the top of the tower, but shortly after, the sea below us will become our course.
With Tortuga, an exciting boat excursion awaits to discover the coast from the sea.
A tour among hidden coves, crystal-clear waters, and postcard-perfect views.
A perfect moment to recharge, swim, and be amazed by the beauty of the coast, Dino Island (Praia a Mare), and the enchanting Arco Magno of San Nicola Arcella.
Here you will have the pleasure of stopping for 1 hour to enjoy a refreshing swim and a delicious aperitif on board (included).

The evening is free — we will suggest places to make it special.
Day 4
Check-out & Travel Inspirations
The last breakfast will be slow and full of flavor, a leisurely farewell to Calabria.
Before leaving, treat yourself to one last taste of this land by taking a piece of its soul with you: at the property, you will find a selection of typical Calabrian products available for purchase, such as artisanal jams, authentic cured meats and cheeses, extra virgin olive oil, local wines, and preserves made following traditional recipes.

By Train: The nearest station is Scalea – S. Domenica Talao, 1.9 km from Casa Marinari.
By Car: From the A3 Salerno–Reggio Calabria, take the “Lagonegro Nord” exit (45 km) if coming from the north, or “Falerna” (100 km) from the south.
By Air: Lamezia Terme Airport (118 km) or Naples International Airport (228 km).
